Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 August 2026
This policy explains what personal data Birdie (getbirdie.uk) collects, why, and how it's handled. Birdie is operated by Robin Turner ("we", "us", "our"). We're based in the UK and comply with UK GDPR.
1. What We Collect
Account information:
your name and email address, collected when you sign up (via Google or email, through our authentication provider, Clerk).
Watch data:
the routes, dates, and price targets you set, plus the flight results and price history we find for you.
Payment information:
if you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details ourselves - Stripe handles this directly and securely.
Usage data:
we use Vercel Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, general navigation patterns, and session behaviour such as clicks and scrolling). This helps us fix problems and improve the product. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies.
Email activity:
we use Resend to send account, alert, and digest emails. Basic delivery data (e.g. whether an email was delivered) may be logged by this provider.
2. Why We Collect It
- To provide the core Service (checking flights and sending you alerts)
- To process your subscription payment
- To communicate with you about your account, alerts, or support requests
- To understand and improve how Birdie works
- To meet legal and accounting obligations
3. Who We Share Data With
We don't sell your personal data. We share limited data with the following service providers, each acting under their own privacy terms, solely to help us run Birdie:
- Clerk - authentication
- Stripe - payment processing
- Resend - email delivery
- Neon - database hosting
- Vercel - application hosting and analytics
- Duffel - flight search (we send route/date/price parameters to retrieve flight data; we do not send your personal details to Duffel unless you use a live booking feature that requires it)
- Microsoft Clarity - site behaviour analytics
If you click a link to a third-party booking or insurance partner (such as Kiwi.com or World Nomads), any information you provide from that point on is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
4. How Long We Keep Data
We keep your account and watch data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain records (e.g. for tax purposes relating to payments).
5. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@getbirdie.uk.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and analytics cookies (via Vercel Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) to understand site usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
7. Children
Birdie is not intended for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "last updated" date.
9. Contact
